Well, this is my first ever blog post! I leave for Paris in three days (!!!) It is hard for me to really understand what that means, since my departure has always seemed so far away...until now. I have a pretty long to-do list of errands, and I have to pack.
I'm studying at Sciences Po in the 6th and 7th arr. in Paris. I'm taking part in an international journalism program. All of my journalism classes are in English. I have 1 elective which I'm taking in English and I will also be in a French language class. The scariest part of Sciences Po is that there is no student housing for anyone in the whole university. They also recommend that you find housing once you arrive in Paris, that way you can see what you are getting. This means I've booked a hotel room for a week with a friend, and by then I will hopefully have found a place to live for the next five months. Monday, I start two weeks of orientation before classes begin. Until then, I will be pretty busy and tired...but the next time you read this blog, there may be a post from good ole' Paris!!

ReplyDeleteThis is your Aunt Carol writing you a quick note. It sounds like you are off to a good start. Many years ago when I was a lot younger I too went to Paris but as a tourist. I can still remember all the architecture, museums and sights to be seen. You will have a wonderful experience that you will remember for a lifetime. I will look forward to reading your journal.
